Khan Bahadur Abdul Majid
Khan Bahadur Abdul Majid was born in 1807 in the village of Komaranai near Gaibanda. Khan Bahadur Abdul Majid was a member of the Rangpur District Board and Local Board and an honorary magistrate. He was one of the few who was awarded the title of 'Khan Bahadur' in the whole of East Bengal during the British rule.
Hamid Uddin Khan
Hamid Uddin Khan was the first elected vice chairman of Gaibandha municipality. During the Pakistan movement, he relinquished the title of 'Khan Sahib' given to him by the English. He later joined the Muslim League and actively participated in politics.
TIM Nurunnabi Chowdhury
He was born on 8 February 185 in Fulchhari upazila of Gaibandha district. He was the first Muslim ICS officer in the region. He was the proponent of the self-reliant movement in this country.
Abu Hossain Sarkar:
He was born in 1895 in Sadulapur upazila of Gaibandha district. He was an accomplished political figure of this country. He was elected a member of the Bengal Provincial Legislative Assembly in 1936 and chairman of the Rangpur District Board. In 1954, he was elected a member of the Provincial Council of Pakistan. He was elected Chief Minister of East Pakistan on 7 June 1955 and in 1956 was appointed Minister of Health in the Union Cabinet of Pakistan.
Sirajuddin Ahmed:
Mr. Sirajuddin Ahmed was born in 1895 in Sadulapur upazila of Gaibandha district. He was the former Deputy Speaker of the East Pakistan Provincial Council.
Shah Abdul Hamid:
Shah Abdul Hamid is one of the children of Gaibandha. He was born in 1900 in Gobindaganj upazila of Gaibandha district. He was the first speaker of the Constituent Assembly of East Bengal (present day Bangladesh). Gaibandha Stadium was named after him "Shah Abdul Hamid Stadium".
Kazi Mohammad Badruddoza
He was born on 1 January 1926 at his ancestral residence on PK Biswas Road in Gaibandha Sadar Upazila. In 1975, he received his Ph.D. from a university in the United States and his diploma in genetics and plant breeding from the University of Lund in Sweden. Kazi Guava is the inventor of the huge size guava which has gained popularity all over the country today. The guava is named after him, "Kazi Guava".
Mahmuduzzaman Babu
Mahmuduzzaman Babu is one of the children of Kriti of Gaibandha district. He became very popular with the song "Ami Banglar Gaan Gai". His house is located in Madhyapara of Gaibandha district town.
Badiul Alam:
Badiul Alam, a daring naval commando, was awarded the title of 'Bir Uttam' in recognition of his significant contribution to the war of liberation. He is a resident of Gaibandha district.
