Details

From time immemorial (present) Bardhankuthi under Gobindaganj Upazila has been an important administrative unit of the then Raja Badshah. King Rampal built the Basudev Temple here in the early sixteenth century. At that time Raja Mansingh was the subaddar of Bengal. During the English period it became famous as a zamindar's house.

The history of Pundra Badhan in ancient times, Barindra on the eve of Muslim conquest and Gaibandha Gaibandha district in present day northern Bangladesh has lost much of its ancient heritage. Vardhan Kuti is one of the examples. The exposed part of the ruined palace is decorated with various shady trees, the once dhokar mamat kshisshnu dalan kotha built by the artist's nipple hand in hand and the specially built Gobindaganj College today and Vardhan kutha bear witness to the future.

Name Karan: Many people think that Vardhan Kuthi located in Gobindaganj Tana Sadar was known as Prachin Badhan Kot. According to some sources, the place has not been expanded or has been demolished in the course of time. Once upon a time there was a powerful man named Vardhan in this place. The name of this place is Badhankot after him, which gradually took the form of Badhan Kut. In the case of naming, many people think that the place which is now known as Vardhankuti is a permanent settlement of a North Suri S (later) of the powerful Vardhana dynasty, then the name Badhankot or Badan Kuthi was created based on their lineage.

Location: The name of Vardhan Kot is also found in ancient texts. However, the location of this Mardan Kot or Badan Kot described by Meen Haj E Siraj has created a complex problem in the traditional quarters. Minhaj-e-Siraj in his famous book Tabkat-e-Nasiriu gives a forest, from which it is easy to infer that today's Pradhankut is the most famous Badan Koti in history but he mentions a river flowing in front of this city. Due to its enormous size, the river is called Bak Moti. It is called Sundar (sea) in Hindustani language when it enters the soil of Hindu lands. Whether the Bakmati River is a Karatoya River at all or not, although the Geography of Bangladesh data shows that the original area of Gaibandha was full of the Don River. And in this connection, the history of Bogra district states that in 642 AD, when the world-famous Chinese traveler Hiuen Tsang went to Kamrup in the north-east from the area of Paundra Badhan (former name of Mahasthan), he crossed a huge river.
